Play, Practice, Poetry! - Workshop at The Art Place in Chilhowie, VA, Saturday, April 12, 2025

$10.00

Play, Practice, Poetry! is for anyone curious about language, poetry, or the creative process.

This workshop aims to make poetry as fun and accessible to as many people as possible by removing any limiting beliefs about what poetry is and who can create it.

Join Leah Elliott Hamilton, spoken word poet and author of As If by Magic on a journey to cultivate presence, attention, and connection with language and with the world we belong to. Bring a pen and notebook, but be prepared to get out of your seat and engage beyond the written page.

This class takes the approach that if you attend to the process, the results are always exactly what they should be.

Past participants had this to say:

“It was fun and there was no pressure or criticism.”

“I learned about self expression and being comfortable with myself.”

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
